The NHL team incorporates civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, scientists, geologists; as well as project managers, electrical and mechanical engineers, structural engineers, construction engineers and inspectors. Along with the company’s technicians, draftspersons and support staff, we offer extensive experience in engineering, consulting and site services at the local and international levels.
where our experience lies in designing work bridges, cofferdams and retaining walls (design against slide, uplift/overturning moment, lateral earth pressure…).
Quality control of road surfacing material is usually called ‘asphalt concrete’; we offer our service in pavement engineering – a branch of civil engineering that uses engineering techniques to design and maintain flexible (asphalt) and rigid (concrete) pavements. This work includes streets and highways and involves knowledge of soils, hydraulics, and material properties; pavement engineering uses new construction as well as rehabilitation and maintenance of existing pavements. NHL uses engineering judgment to make maintenance repairs with the highest long-term benefit and lowest cost. Design of permeable paving – also called pervious paving or porous pavement – is the term used to describe paving methods for roads, parking lots and walkways that allow the movement of water and air through the paving material.
The field of slope stability encompasses using software analysis of static and dynamic stability of slopes of earth and rock-fill dams, slopes of other types of embankments, excavated slopes and natural slopes in soil and soft rock.
Soil exploration and geophysical exploration to obtain information about the soil conditions below the surface. Our methods of observing the soils below the surface, obtaining samples, include standard penetration test (SPT), which is an in-situ dynamic penetration test designed to provide information on the geotechnical engineering properties of soil. The test procedure is performed in accordance with ASTM D1586; our drilling equipment that performs the SPT can be adapted to perform rocking coring used in mineral exploration operations to help determine the rock type and amount of mineralization present, Tri- coning, test pits and trenching.
NHL offers effective project management to achieve all of our project goals and objectives while adhering to classic project constraints—usually scope, quality, time and budget. We optimize the allocation and integration of inputs necessary to meet pre-defined objectives.
NHL has continued to diversify and adjust to the ever-changing needs of the construction market.
